UPDATE:

Considering the new COVID-19 outbreak in Switzerland and our concern not to put the participants’ safety at risk, we have together with Swissmem made the decision to cancel the SEC Business Lunch and postpone it to 2022. We will keep you informed about the new event date and look forward to seeing you then!

The growing importance of the CEE region for the MEM industry

The Central and Eastern European (CEE) region has grown in importance for the Swiss mechanical, electrical and metal (MEM) industries over the past decade. In terms of total MEM industry exports, it has now reached the size of China. One of the advantages of this region is its geographical and cultural proximity to Switzerland. Both are likely to become more important in the context of supply chain risk assessment, as well as in the face of increasing geopolitical tensions.

Our speaker is Martin Hirzel, president of our co-organizer Swissmem. We look forward to a lively discussion.

Martin Hirzel has been active in the Swiss industry for more than 20 years. During 9 years, until 2019, he was CEO of Autoneum Holding AG. Today, he is a member of the Board of Directors of Bucher Industries AG, Dätwyler Holding AG and two private SMEs. He is also a member of the regional business council of the Swiss National Bank and chairs the advisory board of the ZHAW School of Management & Law.

Swissmem is the leading association for SMEs and large companies in Switzerland’s mechanical and electrical engineering industries (MEM industries) and related technology-oriented sectors.

Here you can find the invitation and the official program.

Many thanks to our event partners!
