Montenegro is a country that relies heavily on the tourism sector. The service sector accounts for more than 50% of the economy. The most important export partner is primarily the EU, but Serbia is also one of the most important export countries (24.5% of total exports). Switzerland is in 2nd place with 11.5%. The main export goods are aluminum and goods made from it, mineral. Fuels, wood and wood products, charcoal, iron and steel, machinery, mechanical appliances. In 2023, Switzerland exported goods worth CHF 3.8 million to Montenegro and imported goods worth CHF 3.9 million.
Serbia is also the No. 1 country in terms of imports, followed by China and Serbia. Montenegro imports the most minerals. Fuels, machinery and mechanical appliances, electrical machinery and pharmaceutical products.
