Rückblick/ Highlights / Key Take-Aways
An Important Meeting Point for the SEC Community
On 18 May 2026, the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland–Central Europe (SEC) welcomed numerous members, partners, embassy representatives and guests to its 28th General Assembly at Stadler Rail in Bussnang. The event combined the formal agenda of the General Assembly with professional exchange, personal networking and fascinating insights into one of Switzerland’s most internationally successful industrial companies.
Traditionally, the General Assembly is much more than an association meeting. It offers the SEC community an opportunity to cultivate relationships, exchange experiences and jointly shape the Chamber’s future development.
Insights into Stadler’s Success Story
Stadler opened the event with a company presentation by Philipp Brunner, Executive Vice President, Division Central Europe.
In his presentation, he provided an impressive account of how Stadler has developed into one of the world’s leading manufacturers of rail vehicles in recent years. Of particular interest to SEC members were his remarks on the company’s strong presence in Central and Eastern Europe and the growing importance of international supply chains, production sites and engineering expertise in the region.
The presentation highlighted how closely Swiss companies are connected with the markets of Central and Eastern Europe and the contribution the region makes to the competitiveness of many Swiss businesses.
General Assembly Focused on SEC’s Continued Development
Following the presentation, Oliver Bertschinger, President and Managing Director of SEC, guided participants through the formal agenda of the 28th General Assembly. The activities of the previous year were presented, and the strategic priorities for the coming period were discussed.
The members approved the annual financial statements, adopted the 2026 budget and confirmed the membership fees for the coming year. Participants also received an overview of SEC’s development, its event activities, its cooperation with embassies and partner organisations, and its plans to further expand the network between Switzerland and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
