Trade relations between Switzerland and Romania have become increasingly important in recent years. Switzerland’s exports to Romania have grown and amounted to CHF 1,622 billion in 2023, which underlines the importance of Swiss-Romanian trade relations.
Switzerland mainly exports to Romania products from the chemical and pharmaceutical industry (67.3% of total exports), machinery/apparatus/electronics (16.5%). Switzerland mainly imported textiles/clothing/shoes (23.2%), machinery/equipment/electronics (22%) and vehicles (11.8%) from Romania.
Switzerland is also an important investor for Romania and thus occupies 8th place.
