Switzerland and Poland have a long history of cooperation. In 2019, the countries celebrated 100 years of establishing diplomatic relations.
As one of the leading economies in the CEE region, Poland is a very important trading partner for Switzerland. Swiss companies have invested 7.2 billion euros in Poland and created 90,000 jobs. This puts Switzerland in the top 10 of the most important investors; in the MEM sector and in the software/data processing sector it is even in the top 3. Swiss investors continue to regard the general conditions as favorable.
With a bilateral trade volume of CHF 5.8 billion, Poland is already in 14th place for Switzerland (excluding precious metals), and even in 10th place for trade in goods from the MEM industries.
Poland mostly exports industrial products, equipment and electronics, vehicles, furniture and furnishings for homes, metals and metal products, textiles, clothing and shoes to Switzerland. Switzerland, for its part, exports pharmaceutical and chemical products, machinery, equipment and electronics as well as metals, precision instruments and watches.
In addition to economic cooperation, Poland and Switzerland also have long-standing cultural relations.
